Did you know? The dangerous reality behind the "Laser Blades" in 1980s Tokusatsu (Gavan & Sharivan) ⚡️
> Long before high-tech LEDs, the Japanese Tokusatsu shows **Space Sheriff Gavan** and **Sharivan** (1980s) featured glowing neon swords called **"Laser Blades"**—very similar to Star Wars Lightsabers.
> But how did they make them glow during action scenes? **They used actual, live-wired fluorescent light tube!**
> Because they were using real glass tubes wired with electricity on set, it led to some terrifying accidents. According to cast interviews from a recent reunion panel, there were times when the tubes shattered during intense stunt fights. When the environment was damp or sweaty, **the actors actually got electrocuted on set.**
> Talk about lethal props! Huge respect to the legendary suit actors and cast who literally risked their lives to bring us these iconic sci-fi moments.
