When Britain Was a Tropical Jungle on the Equator

Britain: Once a Jungle on the Equator Britain often brings to mind an image of cloudy skies and cool weather. But surprisingly, about 300 million years ago, it was located right on the equator! 🌞

Back then, it was a dense, lush tropical rainforest. Over hundreds of millions of years, it slowly drifted northward to its current position.

By the way, the massive amounts of coal that fueled Britain's Industrial Revolution are actually the fossilized remains of those tropical plants that flourished during its equatorial era. The scale of history is just mind-blowing, isn't it!

It's an episode that truly makes you realize the Earth is a living, breathing planet.
